Born in Alicante on July 3, 1987, Barbara holds a PhD degree in Industrial Engineering, a Master Degree of Energy Engineering for a Sustainable Development and an Industrial Engineer degree of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV). From December 2010 to December 2016, she worked for the University Research Institute for Energy Engineering (IUIEE) (UPV) as a researcher, with participation in the following projects:
- EU Project FP7 ICE: This project aimed to develop an innovative efficient air-conditioning system for fully electric vehicles based on magnetocaloric refrigeration technology and to design a new thermal power distribution and microclimate control strategies.
- Project: Latent Heat Thermal Energy Storage (LHTES) Installations. Application of phase-change materials to air-conditioning installations in buildings, for energy efficiency and energy demand shifting. Funded by the company ACCIONA Infraestructuras, S.A.
- Project: Application of heat pumps in domestic appliances. This project aimed to implement a heat pump in a dishwasher, in order to achieve energy efficiency 30% better than A+++ label. Funded by the company BSH, S.A. Since January 2017 she works in CYPESOFT S.L., with participation in the following project:
- CYPETHERM EPlus Project. Development of a software tool for the simulation of the energy consumption of buildings using EnergyPlus, adapted to the Energy Codes of several countries. Implementation of HVAC systems.
She is author of 9 papers published in scientific journals and has participated in several scientific congresses. She has given practical lessons of Heat Transfer at UPV.
